limbo grows in vitro

Contributed by elle on Saturday, 5th April 2008 @ 02:52:05 AM in AEST
Topic: abstract

surely, yes it leaves a mark.
I touch the meaning,
enticed by spark
& the meaning touches me
so stark. . .
how could I ever miss it?
some babbling commenced,
events occur,
some speculation too.
. . .a blur of intent
& attention given.
still there is that one thing. . .
a tiny scar
of passage.
resembling teardrop,
fallen.
it is etched
into the layer of my heart
known only as ache.
I found it there, apparent,
by accident, one day.
a pleasantry for my grief,
turned misery.
"oh, look what we have done to me!"
I declared. but no.
"no, no don't ever dare to look."
let's keep ourselves
so unaware. . .
. . .& blinded
by the discord found,
we plant
a kiss with care
to placate inteferences
of all we could not bare.
how then to face
another day?
an olio of time
& timely understanding. . .
yes
& contemplation too.
disciple of belief.
how grace & pain,
burdened with care,
go hand in hand
'til parting brings relief.
I leave with only half a will
to do so.
never fully disengaged.
not giving up the plans
we'd made.
& never wanting
to so. . .
a fragment of me
stays with you
the rest
I gather to myself
consuming as I go. . .
the innate hope
to start again
as limbo grows. . .
in vitro.

This is a great image to me. The idea of the attraction of a spark. We all know a spark can lead to flames.

I leave with only half a will
to do so.
never fully disengaged.
not giving up the plans
we'd made.

That sounds so much like a line I could have written it almost scares me.

It's so very, very hard to let go. Believe me. I know.
