A Kink in the Plan

In the beginning everything seems fine
But as you get older you're forced to walk a thin line
Truths become lies and now you see the light
But you keep your balance and things seem alright
As you grow further opportunity comes around
But then you become officious and fall to the ground
You take a few chances and it seems to work out
Then you try to get up but you're full of self doubt
You open yourself up hoping for a second chance
While waiting for your answer you take a quick glance
Praying for a miracle you take a step back
but all you see now is the intelligence you lack.
Now you are there with your heart opened wide
But all you wanna do now is just run and hide
Now embarrassed and contrite you sit in dismay
You know life doesn't matter hell you were just given away
To avoid unhandiness or change a barrier was made
But that just created the very thing is was to blockade
Where to go from here much like the war in Iraq
The barriers should come down and the troops should be called back.
You know in your heart that all would be fine
Nothing would change it's just in their mind
Soon it will be over this they understand
So why must they be so afraid to let you die a happy man
