My Shooting Star

Contributed by ZiggyB on Thursday, 3rd April 2008 @ 09:54:25 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

This night is beautiful and given its due
Expose to the eye, a magnificent view
It’s into heaven you think you can see
This surely created, for you and for me

A shooting star that blazed its’ path
Sprinkles the sky with a stardust bath
It has traveled so far, just to be here
In the wink of an eye, it does appear

With a brilliant display of illumination
That fills our hearts with exhilaration
Its’ glimmer trails in a soft cascade
The star burns quickly, and starts to fade

Pardon me a moment, for if I might
Further explain that celebration of light
For through the sky, it just cut like a knife
This celebration signifies, the end of a life

From the very moment that it was born
It’s for this instant it was to be gone
And as beautiful as this may appear
My star was destined, to end its’ life here

I’ve thought this out, and to that end
I’m sure that the sequence will start once again
The understanding of this, is not so hard
For this was promised to us, by our God

Absolutely breathtaking, from start to finish. The rhymes seem polished
and it just rolled of the tongue so nicely. As for the content, damn, it's just
G O R G E O U S !! Even with the second to last stanza's revelation, (with the
death of the star and all) it is still so utterly beautiful! :)

Great post! You had me right there with you, enjoying the cascading light
as the star danced to its final destination. ^_^
