Seize the Day

Sometimes we throw caution to the wind,
and say some things we can’t rescind.

If it’s excitement that you seek,
don’t be afraid to take a peek.

And disregard that shake in your knees,
it is the day that you must seize.

Get up in the morning and jump out of bed,
to heck with the bacon, have oatmeal instead.

Learn to say “thank you” and sometimes “please.”
Dot your “I’s” and cross your “T’s.”

And that suggestion that you wouldn’t tell,
the one you aren’t sure would go over well.

Blast them with it real fast,
and let them stick it in their…pipe.

Put on the blue jeans, maybe a hat.
Tell them that you might be back.

Out the door and on your way,
Don’t let this wait another day.

Stretch out your back and work out that kink.
You’re really more forward, than you would think.
