The little girl did not understand
but she felt the vibes
of something in between four walls
that really wasn't right.
She took a walk that day.
From the house she strayed away.
Soon the darkness started gathering round.
The old dead tree even seemed to frown.
She knew she had gone a ways
but did not want to return to that place.
Where the wind blew through the trees
there was no sweet song nor melody.
Should she stay or should she go?
Back to the place that she called home.
Or sit awhile with the frowning tree
who seemed just as sad as she??
The owl hooted in the tree
and all the day birds began to flee.
The clouds and thunder rumbled in
a tear or two ran down her chin.
Little girl and the frowning tree
sat together in the wind and rain.
For a moment she felt free
something a child should never need to seek.

A touching write, Michelle....
"Should she stay or should she go?
Back to the place that she called home.
Or sit awhile with the frowning tree
who seemed just as sad as she??"
Sad indeed.....

Great write, love the sense of sorrow and being torn you managed to portray to the reader as if the reader was in the poem, good stuff michelle, keep it up |

Dear friend Michelle, you have skillfully used nature to enhance the mood of the little girl...
"Little girl and the frowning tree
sat together in the wind and rain.
For a moment she felt free
something a child should never need to seek."
So very true; thought provoking lines indeed.
Thanks for sharing...
with lots of love and respect,
FRANCO.

Somber and touching. It's hard to be a child who carries the worries of adults. Smooth, full of imagery and emotion. I thoroughly enjoyed this. |
