The flame, it consumes me.
I'm entranced by it's beauty.
it's warm tongues surround me.
I feel safe, secure.
It burns away the pain and sorrow,
Whipping them into smoke.
So that no one need know
Of this inner struggle.
They don't understand
So I hold back the tears.
I feel so alone.
Like a candle in the dark.
Whose flame is growing fainter,
Until one day...
It's gone.

I like it alright, but it starts out stronger than it finished out. |
