Forgiveness is a Savior

Looking up to the sky praying for an answer,
An answer to why I'm always left empty handed.
A glimmer of light shines through the clouds,
Just enough to see.
To see all the fallen angels that have,
Brought me to my knees.

And I beg for your forgiveness,
For the things that I have done.
I know it won't make a difference,
If I change what I've become.

Cause I know, what I've done I can't take back,
And I won't, ever understand why I can't,
Get you to believe me anymore…

I bow my head without knowing what it is I've done.
As tears slide down my face I try to right my wrongs.
I look up and see an angel,
Fallen before me.
With broken wings she lay there,
And I can't get off my knees,

As I beg for your forgiveness,
For the things that I have done.
I know it won't make a difference,
If I change what I've become.

Cause I know, what I've done I can't take back,
And I won't, ever understand why I can't,
Get you to believe me anymore…

On my knees I reach out for you,
With an outstretched hand I wait.
Wait for your hand to grasp mine,
So I can save you from this fate.

As I beg for your forgiveness,
For the things that I have done.
I know it won't make a difference,
If I change what I've become.

Cause I know, what I've done I can't take back,
And I won't, ever understand why I can't,
Get you to believe me one more time…
And I know, that I'll never have you back,
And I won't, ever get that second chance,
Just please give me one more chance tonight…

It's great writing but I wasn't sure if you was talking to an ex or God. Either way it's a really good work of art.
