I am a carnival gold fish,
Struggling to see my emerald scale.
Lined up on a thin wooden shelf,
Ready to be taken home.
Outside is out of reach,
I am trapped by transparent plastic.
I dream of surviving to float in-
A magnificent glass bowl.
