Empty Self -- My Nightmare

Contributed by althea_kendry on Thursday, 20th March 2008 @ 02:47:07 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I saw you again
You looked different
Sadness .. and horror
Shattered the beauty of your face
For once I was confused
Not understanding the look in your eyes
I asked why
Like others would have,
Trying to pretend for a moment that i was .. normal
But you knew me well enough
To know that if I had to ask
Something was very seriously wrong with me
You came toward me with your arms wide
I staggered back, tripping over nothing,
Shaking my head
Knowing what you seemed to miss
Your embrace would create hell after
I repeated the word
"Why?"
You replied this time
Thoguh not completely
Shaking your head in disbelief
Mumbling that it broke your heart
I stared until the silence was to much
You explained
You said my eyes looked lifeless, dead
My mouth unwavering, unsmiling
My body hung, clearly defeated
I fell down from the blow
I had tried to hide it all
The misery, the agony,
The constant relentless pain
And the hell
But instantly you saw through my facade
It left me breathless
I fainted and remembered no more
