I Rather Be An Ass.

Me a little ass, and men called me
an idiot of an ass, as I took a stroll
down the downtown lane, juvenile
brats mounted me for a jolly gain.
Me an ass, with wit of my own,
knew well, I am a humdrum ass.
Chewing my share of hay on a balmy sunny day,
I idly rewound inward-mind - receded a couple of
millennium; caught a foggy glimpse of
my grate grandpa ass,
carrying chaste yet pregnant tender virgin,
on that one awful cold night.

My lazy eye caught again - great granduncle ass,
lending his humble young back, to the mother and
to the infant so divine; to flee in hurry on that
horrid infants slaughter night, to a distant
terrain of Pharaohs, yet my granduncle,
happily brayed - he for men, a lowly no good ass.
Seasons rolled by, many a moon gone by
now not so young granduncle ass,
yet again on his wary back, carried
not so infant but the prince, of tranquil on
the path of triumph, midst of chanting multitude,
waving palms, greeting and praising “hosanna”
as their king of kings rode on my,
not so young granduncle ass.

Today, I rather be an ass, bear the load of bleeding cross
on my boney bare back, then - be a mighty witty pompous
man; who deny, betray and crucify a deified sinless man.
-FRANCO-

Very few people call a donkey an ass these days. It's an okay poem but I find it's not really for children.

Dear friends,. I have used this term "Ass" deliberately, to sound more idiotic and dupe.

I love the analogy, dear friend... Hugs
