Bits along the way

We lose a bit along the way.
Carefully gathering ourselves bit by bit.
We put the pieces back together again.
It is our choice to win or lose at our game.

Abuse comes forth in many forms,
we can choose our battles, live through them.
Taking our lessons to share with another
lost and lonely soul we come across today.

Past has no hold on our broken hearts,
unless we let the past follow our thoughts.
Taking us down a dark gloomy path
our spirits withering a bit each day.

Gather yourself up, hug your being.
There is a place in this world for you, for me.
Abuse cannot grasp its evil clutches to deep
if we stand up and shine as we were intended to be.
