Death's Nightmare

Topic: DarkPoetry

Death's Nightmare
Lonely in depth as my world has been taken
Away from me and my foundation is like an earthquake; shaken
Falling to the floor I feel like I've hit rock bottom
Like a leaf when it falls off a tree in Autumn
All I can think about is dying; my knees are so weak
When I open my mouth there's no sound; I cant speak
For death has taken my voice hostage and imprisoned it deep inside
The lock is so tight, suffocating my life
My articulation doesn't surrender; it bleeds through the ink of my pen
And records my despair again and again
My heart is stuck in a pit of sorrow
As I wonder if it will make it to tomorrow
Tearing at my skin piece by piece
Clutching my lungs until my blood begins to cease
The rhythm that my heart once felt
The room begins to spin as I fathom there's no hope; I can't be helped
My hands turn blue and start to tremble
I watch my body begin to disassemble
Then I open my eyes and let out an interrupted scream
When I realize that it was all just a dream.

Thank goodness it was a nightmare. You captured the essence of the horror perfectly.
