Flowers

I always figured flowers to be innocent,
but their presence begs for apology,
please for love,
and demands acceptance.
Bright, shiny, effervescent flora
are guilt veritas.
The (Love me, Love me still,
Love me always, say you will .. )
message in a vase.
Affordable, beautiful, sin eaters, smile givers,
static, dying beggers of forgiveness, and pity.
Yet they are a complete necessity.
Truth in common locution is rare,
...and difficult,
and always sounds so...
wrong, cheap,
and cliche.
Though a rose can speak a thousand true words,
(Love me, Love me still,
Love me always, say you will .. )
with no mouth, no sound, and no real literal meaning.
But I give them despite their misgivings,
for they can more easily say the thousand true words
that my mindand tounge always seem to struggle over,
and ruin.
Yet still,
they are things tha must be said
becasue of what my heart truly feels,
So, I have no misgivings in giving,
one single rose
the opportunity to say my heart for me.

Hey! Welcome, (albeit a little late), to YPDC.

I really loved the feel of this piece; the word choices and the thoughts exacted throughout.
I have had similar thoughts, but retracted them, mainly because of my absolute and complete
adoration for flowers. But also, I felt it a horrifying crime to fault one of the most beautiful
living, breathing, emotion sifters, for the insincerity of the giver.

That is why I was ecstatic with the way you ended this. Breathtaking!
Especially the last three lines. Damn. Poetic to the last.

I especially loved this ..

"for they can more easily say the thousand true words
that my mind and tongue always seem to struggle over,
and ruin"

I ADORE how you separated the words "and ruin" and gave them
their own line. It was positively perfect!

Kudos poet! I shall be searching out more of your work. ^_^
