remnants of forgotten realms
these shades of our former selves
monuments of a time long gone
nothing left when we thought man would go strong
when the atomic winds struck
they ripped flesh from bone
molecular disintigration left nothing
but shadows burned onto the earth
all that was built
smashed by our own hand
what is left has changed
deformed and damned
centuries of nuclear doom
have warped the remants of humanity
genetics altered, no longer the same
a new species born amidst nuclear devastation
now amongst the skeletal remains
of once great, thriving cities
the reborn scurry like roaches
running from the light
striving to survive
to rise up as a species
god has flipped the coin
and life begins again

i find it really good, and clear, i love the last part, it leaves me an optimistic view in Life, although final for humankind.We are our own Nightmare anyway.
