Why can't I comprehend ,
The words I wish you never said?
I try to interpret the things you spoke,
But it just leaves my eyes swollen and red.

Why can't I accept,
The words I wish you never meant?
I try to find an alternate meaning,
All the while my heart is cracked and bent.

Why can't I forget,
The words I wish I never heard?
I try to pretend it didn't happen,
But still I am not cured.

Why can I forgive you,
For the words you wished would hurt so bad?
The words for which you feel no remorse,
The words over which I can not be mad.

Why was I not good enough,
Though I tried as hard as I could?
These are the things I never said to you,
But that I wish I would.
