Tonight we do a slow dance to a sad song
When the clock strikes 12 all hell will break lose
This town is going to *****
And I’m going down with the ship
So lets drink to the night
And paint the town red
Tomorrow may not come
But I never wanted it to anyway
I don’t care about the trees and the flowers
They never cared about me
So why bother?
Medication brings on the best dreams
And the worst nightmares
Days are drown out with sounds of children laughing
In the ignorance of youth
Oh how I miss those days
The taste of yesterday lingers on my lips
Slice out my nerves and blank my memory
These words do not make any sense
Yet this is what I think about when I say I’m thinking about nothing
A pen, a paper, and a thought is what lead us here
And I swore I would never travel this road alone
But here I am on my own
I wish I could be surprised
That feeling is for those who walk with their head up
The sidewalks cracks are only getting bigger
No one is going to fix it
Not today, not tomorrow, not ever
There is a megaphone and a soapbox
But nobody around to listen
My words fall on nothing but empty space
Meaningless words
To you anyway
At least they’re landing on something
Words are lacking and so is patience
Tomorrow may not come
I never wanted it to anyway
