Winds of Spring

I awoke last night to the sound of Pirates
Setting anchor off my bedroom window
The canons fired with painful sharpness
The curtains flashed with the explosive ammo
They’ve come again to take my treasures
Memories of blissful times
When Spring was, in my head brighter
Where now echo dreary chimes
The night before an angel sang
To me alone she enchanted to beckon
But as the canon fire rang
My thoughts were taken by lonesome boatmen
So as I lie the morning after
My dreams of angel loves are died
The damage left no man can mortar
For she has slashed my deepest inside
Now all is left to do is wait
For these Shylock’s to attain their goal
As I here admit defeat
To where this pound of flesh will beat no more
