I'm glad I found you

I have not been the best of men,
i broke your heart time and again,
i gave you reasons to mis-trust
turned your heartfelt words to rust
i broke you when you came alive
and made you angry and despise.

i gave you nothing in return
i gave you memories to burn.
inside my darkend mind of lust
i walk through cobwebs
blow away the dust
below the stacks of rubbish and decay
i find the diamond that i threw away.

you stuck by me through times so bad
you were my rock when i was sad
you gave me hope when all was lost
you protected me no matter the cost
so all i can say is a big thank-you
and a heartfelt hug from me to you
you stood when it was easy to run away
and that i remeber each day

im so glad i found you and never lost
i hope to keep you
