We were all brave young aussie men,
As we marched in from the west.
We were going to fight for our country ,
And do our very best.
More men join our rally,
as others joined the cause.
They preyed with their Mums and Dads,
Lord, look after our Sons at war.
We crowded onto the boats and barges,
each armed with a .303.
We will fight the crazy Turks,
We will land at Gallipolli.
We hit the sands a running,
Firing all the way.
We placed our lives in Gods hands ,
on that fateful day
As young Australian blood was split,
We battled on into the trenches.
Destroying all the enemy,
Putting up our best defences.
25th of April 1915, was the day we fort to save,
Our freedom and our way of life.
To gaureentee our children,
They wouldn't be enslaved.
Nine months of hell and fire on Earth,
We trudged through the mud and gore.
Trying hard to push on,
To gain a hundred feet or more.
Bravery and skill in fighting,
Against the Turkish forces.
Thousands of men lost their lives,
used up all their resources.
You celibrate us each year,
With parades and long proud marches.
And we feel as we look down from heaven,
As our future generation enlarges.
Our lives had not been lost in vein,
Humanity gave us a reason.
It showed us our true destiny in life,
why we died in that foul season.
Eight thousand young Aussie soldiers,
Lost their lives against the Turkish defences.
We hold them now in great stead,
these young men who were ANZACS and meant it.
