Weeping Willow

Contributed by jyssvw on Thursday, 6th March 2008 @ 02:20:05 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

Faded is the sketch
You drew of my face
You’re name signed at the bottom
With all your love, you said

Aged are the spices
That once thrilled to no ends
The butterflies and numbness
When I first saw myself in your eyes

Ancient is the love
I once tossed in your path
Tripped up on my own words
Only to get thrown down again

Antiquated jitters
Upon belated arrivals
A transition of lives
We waged our fair battles

Endless nights
Of passionate love making
We came together
To be pulled apart

Gone is the glamorous scent
Of your hair on my pillow
Did you get this last letter I sent?
It was my last, a portrait of my past
My weeping willow

Love the poem and the first lines of each stanza are so descriptive. Great job!

My dear jyss ..

..this is painfully absolute. There is an agony within these words that I've rarely
seen from you- a vulnerability, if you will. Damn beautiful nevertheless.

There is a sadness, but also a beauty in the experience of passion, thrills and always
the brilliant anxiety of first meetings, first touches and first kisses ...

I love this one. Truly. It's completely wonderful, right down to that
magnificent way the poet's object was addressed in the end. Damn fine poetry.

~Breezy
