Today is the day you are coming home
It's been over a year since you left
As you pull into the parking lot
You look around with a daze look
As you walk to the waiting room
Dad puts his arm around you
Telling you that things
Have changed since you left
You just stare at him with a confused look
As Mom greets you with a hug
She starts to cry
She tells you to go with your dad
As you walk down the hallway
Your heart start to race with every step
As you walk into my room
You stop dead in your tracks
You see your roomate
Kissing my forehead
While he whispers into my ear
I smile with a hidden laugh
As tears build in my eyes....
I glance up to see you
Standing at the end of my bed
You casual look over at him
with hatred in your eyes
I ask If you want to
Hold your niece.
As you hold her
tight in your arm
I could see a
Tear building in your eye
As you whispered
Your Uncle is home
