The adhesive that once bound us has deteriorated into nothing but shreds stitched together by pity and fear of the unknown
I know one thing
I did care for you
The sound of hearts beating in synchronized and but separate cavities now deliver an awkward thump which holds no bearing on our togetherness
The sweat that would poor on our bodies in time of making love now falls to the floor, lifeless, with no skin to attach itself to
The voices, the laughter, the smiles, the kisses, the all of it, when one conjures up thoughts of loveliness and pristine moments, shatters with nothing left to say
The intimacy which garnered attention to pleasure and alignment with celestial personifications of fate and destiny, with stars dancing, meteors colliding, all to pay homage to the moon and her blue Earth
I know nothing of the heavens
Or of the hell below it
The aggravation, misery, now installed in the place of what was once bliss, strikes the soul as a waste of time and energy, and disallows for the continuation of self-battering, self-loathing, further damaging the ego and its vital component of esteem, confidence and all the features, save for the physical, which make a man a man and child less then that.
Forgoing all logic, pushing away all reason, inconsiderate of the future while focusing only now on the petty minute, the instant, today without tomorrow, as if the sun will never return, as it disembarks, like the days previous, I pray that nothing comes between us, and so it has.

Your writes, always have and add something, for the reader....the words flow and leave a lost sense in this piece, especially the last few words.

The regret feels quite strong here, and you share your thoughts really well in this write.
The reader is taken on a series of what ifs and should haves, and ultimately to the conclusion: That time is precious.
Nicely done! |
