I Wanted You To Know

I open my mouth
But the words don't come out
And I say the things
That spill over my thoughts.

I don't want to blame you
But I guess that's what I'm doing
When all my hatred
Revolves around you.

I just wanted you to know you're the reason
I can't keep the cancer out of my lungs
And the scars off my wrists
The reason there's no structure.

I wanted you to know
That I'm slipping from reality
That it's harder to keep alive
But that's not your problem.

I grew up cold because of you
I can't trust because of you
You couldn't even make the effort
To try to see me.

Just like every other time I've needed you
You weren't there
So yeah I guess your daughter is a failure
I just wanted you to know that.

Please report poetry and or comments that are in breach of our site rules HERE (Please include poem title or url). Parents also please ensure that you supervise your children well when they are on the internet; regardless of what a site says about being, or being considered, child-safe.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
