Violet and Hatred

Contributed by harmony on Tuesday, 26th February 2008 @ 05:57:48 AM in AEST
Topic: surreal

Early in the day
An old man wearing a dress
was sat knitting in the woods
his dress was beautiful !
as light and delicate as an ill hair
a soft blue in colour
a simple dress
for a man who had nowhere
of any importance to go

The trees in the wood
were all so full of leaves
there trunks could not be seen
from where we are
and a flat rock is where we are
not very far away from him at all
Miles away on a hill
a single tree stood
and in its shadow sat a girl and a boy
Violet and Hatred
Hatreds head rested on Violets shoulder
he sighed and made the forest visible

Hatred to Violet
"Whatever is wrong with the sky Violet
it is patterned it is full of holes of a paler blue"
It raises our head to the sky
Violet to Hatred
"It is just the roof dear
if it was the sky it would eat us"
Violets great idea!
"Wouldn't it be the makings of a great adventure
to walk amongst the leaves
of the trees that let us breath
to see what we can see"

With a smile hatred said
"It would"
his leader stood
and he followed
they walked hand in hand down the hill
and into the forest
and into the sound of knitting needles tapping
and into the dark

The bumps and scratching of the trees
making cuts a bruises on there bodies
they walked onwards through the forest
the strong violet and her soldier
They were not approached for miles and miles
by creatures of any kind

Here we are at our rock

They stood still and watched the old man knit
Tappety Tap so loud
The old man raised his head
and questioned them
"You are so far into the forest children
what is your business?"
Violet answered
"We are making a great adventure
by braving the forest depths
what is your business old man?"

The old man replied
"It may look like I am knitting
but i am escaping reality
I will escape until reality
is only attached by a single hair
of pure wisdom
turn back children
it will be very dark eventually"
He stopped still
the children as witnesses
to his escape

The few holes that let in the light
were painted darker and bled on them
Hatred prayed for the old man
and Violet looked on
expression lacking
Violet touched hatreds shoulder
and told him
"Lets turn back
back to the hill with one tree
we can tell all
of what we have seen
about the old man and the darkness
it has been very short dear
but it was greater than sitting"

Violet disappeared back into the black forest
and hatred followed her
he felt around for her hand and grabbed it
through the forest they ran
the wood carved them
and the creatures of the night threatened them
At the sight of there hill and tree
they were so relieved
They were painted by the moon
Violet and Hatred sat under the tree to rest
and waited for there wounds to heal

Anything involving an old man in a dress has got to be good...and this was just that. Very enjoyable.
