~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your laughter is fleeting like your footsteps at the door.
You only hold me with your fingertips
and I can feel that you are so close to letting go.
But darling, don’t you worry.
I’ve got a better way to go about this.
You don’t have to leave me.
I’ll simply write you out of my life.
Each word penned will act as its own weapon
Cutting the ropes and strings that have kept you here,
Cutting out the knots that we had called love.
With each sentence
we will become phantoms,
unraveling, unwinding, and we will
disintegrate
as words turn to smoke and you become another gray smile,
not even worth remembering.
This is sad. Although we would like to forget....we always remember.
Keep your chin up. |
