Ten Years Old, Pocket Full of Rocks

Contributed by inlovewithaladd on Sunday, 24th February 2008 @ 09:08:00 PM in AEST

in this picture, i am ten.
and my heart aches to see it.
what can i tell her?
and will she believe?

there are no knights,
there are only suits of armor, wandering, sleeping,
shoveling the daily, and sitting on stands

no happy endings, child,
only abrupt, mourning ones,
where all you can do, when all the proceedings are over,
is stare at the headstone and curse the Lord

there is no safe place
there are no picket fences
there are no perfect fathers, and even your dreams won't save you
from ending up like me,

but, hair short, pockets full of rocks, hands and face muddy, she
can not hear me.....
and my heart breaks

Dri and Ladd,

Seems I can't talk to one without talking to the other. I like this reality.

Anyway, this one is Beautiful. My inner child desperately needed my Love, too. The child within does hear our words, understands our heart, even if she doesn't jump for joy each time we reach out and give a kiss and a hug. It takes a whole mountain of understanding, acceptance and Love to give our child the confidence the new reality is dependable and real. I happened on a song by Celine Dion. I had to change a few of the lyrics, but it goes like this:

Immortality (I and I)

So this is who I am,
And this is all I know,
I must choose to live,
For all that I can give,
A spark that makes the power grow

I will stand for my dream if I can,
A symbol of my faith in who I am,
But you are my only;
I must follow the road that lies ahead,
And I won't let my heart control my head,
But you are my only
And we don't say goodbye,
And I know what I've got to be

Immortality
I make my journey through eternity
I keep the memory of you and me inside

Fulfilling destiny,
It's there within the child,
My storm will never end,
My fate is in the wind,
The king of hearts, the joker's wild,
But we don't say goodbye,
It doesn't matter if anyone remembers me

Cos I have found a dream that must come true,
Every ounce of me must see it though,
But you are my only
Love without condition is the role I must play,
Hand over my heart I'll find my way,
No one can give to me

Immortality
There is a vision and a fire in me
I keep the memory of you and me, inside
And we don't say goodbye
We don't say goodbye
With all my love for you
And whatever else we may do
We don't say, goodbye

Within the heart of that ten year old, is the same dream you hold dear within. The course you are on will eventually bring your little girl into the light of day. Most people have turned their back on their wounded inner child. That part of our life represents far too much pain for us to give it voice. You have chosen to embrace this child and all the pain she represents. Though difficult and painful, this is the only course which will bring freedom to your spiritual, I and I.

You are a sweatheart. I can't help but own you as a kindred spirit, as a daughter! You are so precious; so brave; so strong!

Love and blessings always,

ron...enigma
