To the mountain of skull.

Confusion and chaos, stamped, cry and abuse,
what that fuss, so I thought, heedlessly peeped out
through the porthole, the spectacle of calamity unveiled
paralyzed my soul.
This man in dripping red, with his own blood, body disfigured,
like a plowed land, maniac mocking militia nagging behind
as he carried this huge block of wood, cross they called -
on his weak shoulders,
Slashing and wiping, blows and slapping, spiting and spanking,
one hell I witnessed in a split second; “You felon” they yelled,
yet walked this man with an accomplished pride, a prince or a
bridegroom; I couldn’t hold but to follow him – to the mountain of skull.
Thousand pairs of eyes gazed at him in contempt, few with
compassion, and mine with confusion but his with composure; why?
I queried within, as they speared him with spikes hung him on
to the wood; then, his teetotal loud voice from the cross I heard.
“Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing”
This man in pain and humiliation loved us more then his own life!?.

Franco, my friend, it is so nice to see you back. :)
With Easter fast approaching, this subject is perfect. I love how you
retold the story in first person. It just makes the images so much more
real, you know? Such vivid descriptions; it almost places the reader right
there! Beautiful words, my friend. Thanks for sharing this one.
