Hold on my son, don’t fret just yet
For your days shall soon be grand;
And if they’re met with some regret
I’ll be beside you to lend my hand.
With each and every step you take
A new journey will begin;
Stay true to yourself and you will make
A journey that you’ll always win.
Each journey is but an hour long...
So don’t plan too far ahead,
With each step you’ll be forever strong
And ready for the coming tread.
When you need an open ear
To catch a troubled thought or two;
Or a shoulder to catch a tear,
I’ll be there each time for you.

Well the category is accurate, this really is an inspiring poem. It's almost as if it emphasizes potential, and possibilities--like the world is just waiting to be explored, and you'll always be there to help. I enjoyed this piece, well done. |

This is so beautiful and simply written that I got caught up in the imagery and emotion, over the word choice. Usually I find myself having to read poetry slowly while dissecting each word to grasp the meaning. While this may be one of my shortcomings, this particular poem spoke to my heart directly. If only everyone could be a parent such as you. Thank you!
