~ Colorful and fragrant, the flowers spent the day~
~Cast in beautiful colors flourishing in suns ray~
~Admired by so many, the gardens so grand~
~Tended to and looked after with loving thought and hand~
Time took away, the flowers seemed to go
Weeds have over run the place, looks like a dump.
Everything has gone astray, time captured in a slump.
Other side of lonely the lost world seems to be,
Tears may fall for brief moments of the beauty that used to be.
Frozen in the world where beauty will no longer dwell.
The flowers are all gone, no story left to tell.

Oh Michelle, how sad and discouraging. I hate to even ponder what this could
be a metaphor for. The piece, itself, is just so painfully beautiful. You have
taken an emotion and bottled it, in a sense. And when the reader opens it, they
are flooded; drenched from head to foot with it! There is no escaping the images
you place in our minds and hearts. But I offer to you, if one person, just one,
took the care and time to start weeding, how many others would follow, yes?
Once the bed was nourished and caressed with loving hands, I"m sure the
flowers would once again grow. Nothing is ever hopeless. :)
*huge hugs*
hope you are doing okay ~

The juxtaposition of the first verse and the third is just so interesting, I really like the story you told here. Time always has that effect on everything, and it can be so depressing at times, and I think you captured some nice themes here. Great write. |

The flowers live on in someones memory of their beauty...nothing is ever really gone if someone remembers and smiles
