If the chance arose
to ask the world whatever you chose,
What would it be?
...Will WE ever change?
Maybe, one day if pigs fly,
its harsh but the percentages never lie.
But thats how it is when the blind lead the blind.
Generations makin the same mistakes time after time.
These matierial posessions just made to poison peoples minds.
2 year contracts turn into lifetimes.
Mental handcuffs ensures an oppressed mind.
Get rich quick but die even quicker
neighborhoods flooded with drugs, guns and liquor.
And they wonder why we dont own any property.
Hell, You better off trying to win the lottery.
And even then you still lose.
A life behind bars or addicted to booz.
A hard decision but you still have to choose.
But whatever you do, make it quick with no hesitation.
Its easier killing a person with no education.
Either way it goes they're still gonna end up in the same place...
Either dead or in jail.
Everybody runnin but dont know the race.
The game of life and we have failed to learn the rules.
The media blowing up the smallest issues.
One day they honor you... & If you mess up... then they all of a sudden
dont wanna sponsor you!
Look... its as simple as this...
Dont believe me you can ask Michael Vick!
Or O.J. or Kobe Bryant or 90% of these rappers rymin.
Thinkin they got it made.
Thinkin they rule the world but really They the slaves!
They dont love you, they just need you to make money...You Dummy!
They give us a taste of freedom & then take it away from me.
Shiny begets and a lifetime of debts, just dont add up, or is it just me?
These meaningless posessions turned necessities.
Thats exactly what they want you to do, cant you see?
They offer you your freedom, but dont get it twisted cuz the ***** aint free!
Cuz it comes with a price, and often times its LIFE!
Nothin in this world is free... thats what my momma told me.
Threats of inprisonment and death bound us up
like a nuse around our neck.
Tell me, where on this earth is anyone ever immune to death?
Preserve what priorities you have left.
Make your money stretch, get out of debt, buy a house, and your set.
Your on your way to the American Dream
but thats only the first step.
Wars in foreign lands, playin the middle east police,
While my people here at home still livin in the streets!
The days have come and gone puttin blacks on the front lines.
Cold dead bodies layin in a trench or in wells.
Makin our people fight amongst themselves. Draft for what?!
They dont need us in the army cuz we killin ourselves!
What happened to the days of MALCOLM preachin in the streets?
They killin our leaders, we cant use our voice or open our mouths to speak.
So dont be nieve cuz they out for me...
BecauseThey even killed the king out on his balcony!
Ali went back to the mother land
& when he got off his flight
he seen beautifu black people
not a nigga in sight!
So get out the box, let your mind be free.
And let your light shine for the world to see.
Im doin this for those back in slavery
Who went through the struggle just so I could BE!!
But like MARTIN said, there'll be better days for mines.
AND I CANT WAIT TIL THE DAY WHEN MY PEOPLE SHINE
I RAISE A BLACK FIST FOR MY PEOPLES PRIDES BUT I CANT
UNDERSTAND FOR THE LIFE OF ME,
WHY MY PEOPLE JUST CANT LIVE RIGHTEOUSLY?
A MESSAGE TO THE WORLD THAT THE "SON" HAS SHOWN...
"LIBERATE YOUR MIND AND LETS GO BACK HOME"

whoiiie this is a very powerfull write. One can see your pain and anger as you write.
There's no doubting the truth here.
I choose luv above all colour of skin, creed or race. I'm part German, India, Irish and ducth so I can say nothing 'bout any race.
You shine right on thru this very powerfull write.
Take care and peace,

A powerful and righteous rap. I was blown away with what I saw across the US in October last year - there's still segregation, animosity and grinding poverty.
Great references, good flow, genuine emotion. Topical, too.
Post this as an audio somewhere.
Spike
p.s spell check in future, and I don't mean the vernacular - that was spectacular |
