~Where Eternal Flowers Sleep~

Contributed by doug on Monday, 18th February 2008 @ 02:34:55 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

~x~

Clouds stand like castles 'pon the endless horizon
in the burial of the evening sun.
The golden glowing light of God
within her eyes it's this I see...

Swords are drawn and now I turn
away into the coming storm
I laugh and stand against forever.
A life for her and death for me.

I hope for little now except
that deeds I've done won't go untold.
It is the line of my people
lo , there do I see...

I stand alone to face the tide
and to my back ; a peaceful nook
There she lay where none can find
Secret heaven's golden rays.......

Here the storm is but a whisper...
Here eternal flowers sleep.
Here the storm is but a whisper...
here is a peace I will never know.

~x~

wow Dusty, I love this poem. I have missed your writing so much. I'm glad to see a new piece by you. I love the idea behind it, the warrior battling to keep her safe.

I love the title, drew me right in. You have this unnerving habit of making me lose my words. This write sighs with melancholy, something lost... I love this :

"Swords are drawn and now I turn
away into the coming storm
I laugh and stand against forever.
A life for her and death for me."

Gorgeous. I envy your way of keeping things short, yet having an enormous impact. Never failing to impress, my friend. =) All I ask for is more. I have been away for too long.

*hugs*

~Stephy.
