Coming to the Surface

I swim to the surface and smell the air,
my inner gills now closed. I wish to walk the earth.
What lies beneath my water floor,
attaches me to all that's here on ground , its worth.

I tremble as I walk,
my feet so water friendly all these days.
I enter air elements and breath the haze.
What lies within the two worlds that I travel sea and air?
What chokes the worlds connected, as I visit there?

I cannot find a balance as I flip from sea to land.
What happens when no comfort place is readily at hand?
What survival can I find in water or in air?

I travel onto earth, feet bare.

The pain within my soul shoots up my spine.
Oh universe , none of it is mine.
What have you done to all that was just me?
The water, air and earth no longer free.

I wish for wings to fly me to the astral plane above.
Where all has been preserved and one enters, through "Pure Love".

Wow ND. This is so exceptionally profound, and sad at the same time.
How awful it is that the earth has not time to heal before we trash her
in some other devastating way. It is a painful future we look forward
to if we do not look after her.

Wonderful words, dear friend. Very thought provoking and wise.
