Cross To Bear

Hopeless at finding words, unless given paper,
And pen, and time to mull it over,
Waiting for the right response, it never comes,
So I stand in repose, hours of pain and guilt,
Losing themselves within,
Until I’m forced to bite my tongue,
To hold my fears, and my dreams, in.
Cannot share this moment, this never ending dread,
That creeps inside the shadows, and crawls into my bed,
Where are you,
When I need to see your face, to tell you,
The lies that I told weren’t lies at all,
They were fairytales, that I thought would see us through.
But they were fools gold, pretty to look at,
Until close inspection, when I realise that they were just an empty promise,
A memory unfulfilled.
Tonight, for some reason, I miss you,
And cannot sleep,
Seconds last eternity,
And I wonder if ever, you knew, and understood,
What it felt like to be me.
Sleep well on your cross,
For I shall bear mine with the quiet dignity you’d expect.
Until better times.

well, when you return with a post, you REALLY return with a post!
There is depth here that dwells in a sadness. Sometimes the missing
is so deep, it feels like nothing will ever be right again, you know?
painfully beautiful, hun ~
