Dragging my feet along this unbeaten trail,
To these passing trees I’d gladly spill my soul.
The tick of my watch chills my heart,
And I focus on my shoes as I walk.
I forgetfully peer beyond the peaceful face of the forest,
Where saplings grow on top of the rotting debris,
Deep orange feathers fall off of a flash of flying forms,
And a stray limping cub’s eyes burn through the shadows.
Every cell of the land is screaming,
Too loudly, for I have grown deaf.
I shudder as I wander aimlessly,
Keeping my eyes fixed on the rugged earth at my feet.

greetings my good friend, i must say you are growing into a true poet!
I think you have finally got the idea of leaving the reader a piece of their own mind, a piece that they can finish and take home with them. You are getting it.
bravo!
