With no need for words,
I pluck them from the air to
press between pages
of paper-winged books
*muted sonorities in quiet nooks*
Seal the lips with an inward kiss,
the soft death knell of voice
(a quiet elegy to the spoken self)
worm-tongue stilled in sleep,
the absence of sound complete
Words are mercurial
but silence is golden;
gestures hold in quiet regard
with hands apposed
amongst limbs, reposed
Here now, wordless, soundless
the heart eases
rivers through veins
while cells harmonise;
free of the outer confines
of movement and voice and signs.

Ah dear poet ... yes, words do tend to be mercurial, (an interesting
choice of adjective); we would do well, to just silence ourselves at times.
It is wise you placed this in the spiritual catagory as it is almost meditational
in itself, especially that last stanza.
symphonious cacophony--
a lovely oxymoron, not unlike a deafening silence. But there
lies truth in this one. Discord can surely be found even in a
symphony, had the musician not the care or "silent wit"
about him to concentrate on what is at hand ... yes indeed we
all need, at times, a wordless, soundless, motionless moment or two. :)
A beautifully placed command of words, dear poet. And a spiritually,
delightful read. I do so enjoy visiting your pages ...
:)
