Night

A traitor snuck in like a thief in the night.
Sneaking in shadows as the faces of sullen owls watched.
Secrets whispered through the trees though I did not hear.
Could it be everyone knew but me? Yes it is true it is true.

Time moved forward as it always does, inevitable we know.
I, seemingly was stuck in that sobering moment
stuck in the midst of my own quick sand pulling me down.
It grew harder and harder to breathe as the reality of it all sunk deep in my heart.

The wind gently whispered through leaves on the tree’s.
Reminding me of the secrets whispered all around me.
A stir and another, a ripple effect, everyone knew but me but me.
Why do I want to know a truth that sacrifices all I thought to be real?

Sadness engulfed my heart and soul turning me into a lump.
A mass of someone that I dont believe to be me.
Caught in the dark never ending slump.
“of what ifs and whys and what did I do, to deserve this torture and pain?

I as many a beautiful lady, will love with the fullness of our very being.
Not just a part but the entire whole of our worth,
set forth in an empowering, evolving certainty, giving our entire self,
then within a quick second our hearts thrown away upon a shelf.

A burning ember snuffed quickly, just as the traitor stole the existence of all we knew

with such certainty………….
