Nothing has changed,
But everything is different,

I walk up the same gray steps,
And through the same glass doors,

But it as through for the very first time,
Like the days I lived before where only phantoms in the night,

The sun still shines and the bird still sing,
But they only act as bearers of a sorrowful reminder of a life alone,

I work during the day and sleep at night,
But it is through I cannot wake up,

But perhaps I am awake for the first time,
And my empty heart beats onward,

The people go by in pairs of two,
But they only show me that I am not with you,

Nothing has changed,
Everything has stayed the same,

But somehow, in ways I have yet to fathom,
Everything is different without you here.

I am going through something similar right now...it is not fun. It is a very smooth read. I like it!!
