i want to sleep a dreamless sleep
a sleep so pure and so deep
a contented sleep, no dreams, no fears
sunshine and flowers or a perfect moonlit night
sky with the stars twinkling bright
a warm summers breeze blowing through my hair
the sound of children playing, of peace
i want to fill my lungs with air
scented with lavender, fresh cut grass
clean and crisp
to see flowers blooming,
a clear blue sky
to see trees blowing this way and that
i wake.........
its there but i dont feel its joy
i dream of darkness,of deaths cold hands
i dream of sorrow,
bleakness
a winters day,
cold
wet
miserable
spiteful
i can feel the tingle in my fingers
the biting wind, my nose and toes gone numb
the rain dripping from my hair into my eyes
no respite no care
these are the dreams i wish were bright
the ones that come in the dead of night

I really enjoyed the imagery. The comforts of our summers, the callousness of our winters. |
