If I Never Ever Was

If I Never Ever Was

If I never ever was, how would I still be here
a dog, a cat, just one small plant or someone you hold dear

Would you look at me the same or would you turn away
How could I ever be not me and still remain the same?

All these things, I do think, my mind does ever ponder
of how you would invite me in, your life I often wonder

would you softly pat my head...... if i were that dog
or maybe kiss me on the cheek, if i were a frog?

would you rub your hand so slow, on my furry back
To make me purr and sleep so calm, if I were a cat

would you give me water, a flower soon to be
would you show me sunlight and would you talk to me

All, that I am and ever be, is carried in my seed
just one small change to rearrange, I could be a weed

then how patient would you be, to see me sprout my head
to pluck me harshly from my home, to leave your flower bed

To sit at rest, the cool of shade, if I were a tree
or cry out loud and run away, if i were a bee

To be the apple of your eye or a mellon with no hair
Maybe take a bite of me, If I were a pear

You may think me really strange to think these things and wonder
But, I am one of His great gifts, this too you still must ponder

All these things that I may think and all I ever thunk
would you really think me sweet ... If i were a skunk ???????

funny end... some people will not though.. some will step all over you if you were flower, kick you if you were a dog and throw u if you were a cat.. and run you over if you were a frog.. sad to say.. that what i just wrote is true, because if i were to meet you, you would not be met if you were another human being, but simply any other being i would not mind..
