In between the hours

The days go by forgotten
each memory like the last,
Stuck in set motions
the future like the past.
We continue on our journey
barely stopping for a breath.
Time measured by the traffic
waking just to dress.
Hours pass in cigarettes
counting coffee spoons.
The days keep on passing
skipping afternoons.
In between the hours
that mark our busy lives
It's living in the minutes
that we remember of our life.
