Did I step on to the moon this morning
I knew that the dew was on the ground
the earth was sound beneath my feet
I saw the streets and people walking
and people talking of the world around
but the sound of their voices was wrong
the song on the radio was now unclear
the fear on my face was plain but
none questioned my apparent pain
the different shades of light weren't new
only the view was more pronounced
perhaps if I had denied the change
and rearranged the uneven thoughts
I wouldn't have been caught outside of the box
