My Heart in a Letter

Contributed by Jay_ne3 on Thursday, 17th January 2008 @ 11:40:01 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Written in words
My heart shattered on a page
To you it was just a letter
To you it was a joke
To you it didn’t even matter

But to me
It was my heart
It was love in poem
To me
It was my life

So how can you hold it and laugh
Show it to your friends and point
At me
Where are you
The real you

Cause that's who I wrote it to
That’s who I dated
That’s who I loved
The real you

To you it was a mistake
To you it never mattered
To you it was the thing
You choose to forget

But for me
it was my lifeline
My hope
For me it was beginning and end
For me
It was my life

For you it was only a letter
But for me
It was love

I have to admit that this has happened to me to some extent. Never a good feeling.
You have done an excellent job at capturing the feelings that come with it.
Keep up the writing!
