i never tried painting, except
for once,
when i was a kid and
got in this van gogh kick
where i slopped on the paint
real thick and
in the brightest colors
i could find.
i did them fast and
they weren’t very good.
i’m sure
people say the same thing
about my poems.
only this time
i’m not
going to
stop.

Hey John, Thankyou for posting your poem, you've given me inspiration with your writings to not make everything so much about imagination. I hope you don't stop writing |

JohnYamrus,
It was delightful. Your lower case i's, repeated consonant sounds and the internal ryhme of kick and thick...I don't know...maybe it was the entirely natural flow of your thoughts...whatever, it worked for me! And I'd kind of like to see your Van Gogh paintings. They were probably better than you thick. Van Gogh is one of my favorites. Unbelievably, he started out as a missionary! Go figure!
