I stood there in the rain for quite some time
Waiting for you to come my way
To give me the reason of why you left
I could have given you a reason to stay
I stood there in the rain for quite some time
Too ignorant to see that you were gone
No one knew what I was going through then
Because I told them that nothing was wrong
I stood there in the rain for quite some time
My summer completely wrapped up in you
They called me inside, yet still I waited
I figured you’d show up once you knew
I stood there in the rain for quite some time
Until the summer’s fall returned
Those three months completely consumed
Want to know what I learned?
I stood there in the rain for quite some time
Yet learned nothing at all
So if you could please let me know
Why didn’t you at least make a call?
I stood there in the rain for quite some time
Doing what any sane person wouldn’t dare
Bound and determined to give up everything
In hopes that someday you’d care

Very well-expressed. Did your tears match the rain drop for drop? Touching poem. |
