I'll Kill Myself Before I Become You

well she had some time to kill
everyone called her a safe bet
well im betting shes not

and that razorblade looked so tempting
it almost screamed touch me
just like her wrist screamed cut me
but in a slightly different tone
and she sat all alone
stroking the blade, carved to slain perfection
as she glazed at it
with deep affection

your my best friend she giggled
and spiked her drink with a bit of sadness
turned down the houselights
and drowned it in the dark

then when she comes down
she recites that excuse in her mind
'thats ok, it was the last time'
like she does all the time

and her makeup box, her life saver
she applies her mask
a touch of blush
and eyeliner..maybe a little too much
and she stares at the mirror
staring at a stranger
the person she promised she'd never become
and its exactly what shes done

well, if no one knows
it cant hurt anyone
looks in the mirror
and finally sees no reflection
..shes only transparent.
