The Mirror

Contributed by BigDaddy on Saturday, 12th January 2008 @ 05:17:17 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Find comfort in pain for you and I have the same fate,
Possessions will abound whether you love, or I choose to hate.
The mirror has two faces, but they do not look alike,
One embraces the substance of life while the other relishes in spite.
Each story is different with some philosophy to convey,
Some vision of loneliness and the end of days.
Fear becomes our master because of the choices we made,
Quietly we stand still; the precious moments of time fade away.
I look at you and realize someday you will be gone,
I only want to be true to you and do you no wrong.
You are difficult to deal with and simply will not compromise,
Is this what you have become? I trouble to surmise.
I like you; no, I have grown to love you,
You are different, but you remind me of someone I once knew.
Please don't worry we will learn to live with each other,
Because you are my friend, my worst enemy, my only brother.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
