My Father has a gun

Contributed by josephlovaglio on Friday, 11th January 2008 @ 05:22:13 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

My father has a gun
it’s a 45
its silver and black
and its has bullets
its very loud
and sounds nothing like in the movies
its trigger is easy
and it handles nice
its hard to aim from far away
but not from close range
I bet my friends would think its cool
I bet my friends would want to touch it
my father cleans his gun
with every 200 rounds fired
I bet it would but a hole in my head
I bet it would put a hole in my friends head
when I get depressed I know where it is
when I feel upset I know where it is
“Now son its not a toy “
my father has a gun
and the bullet would zip right through my head
there would be a lot of blood
there would be a lot of tears
it handles so nice
the gun was loud
for just a split second
then I went numb
and saw a light
my father and his gun.......
My father has a gun.

This is so sad but well written.
I can understand depression and how it takes every thing from you, it seems.
Instead of being proud of your Dad's 45 you need to ask your Dad to get you some help. There are many meds out there that can make you think more clearly and help you to deal with life better.
Please get some help. I'd hate to hear that you gave in to the depression and we'd be hearing 'bout you on the news.
You're a good writer, Please focas on that.
Luv, huggs, prayer,
emy
