I hate when you
play with my feelings,
not wanting to hurt them,
but spin them on your finger,
when you know they could drop and shatter any second.
On your fingers, you wear my past like a ring.
once my life was in my hands,
but you made them tremble
and shake,
you made my body quiver,
you made me think it was okay,
to lose it..to lose everything.
All I could say was, why me?
what a gift, your love seemed.
how I wish now, you had never given it,
and I had never, so recklessly, returned it.
I hate how you say her name,
like you once said mine.
with the pleasure on your lips clear
when it's sound dances out from between them.
the same lips that kissed me goodnight,
now kiss hers on the weekends.
If you could save me, would I even let you?

Painful truths put straight to the page and done wonderfully, despite the fact pain will linger on. May time and strength carry you forward.Hugs |
