Remembering
Remembering the day you died
Still brings about such pain inside
The shock I felt, it shattered me
An ashen face for all to see
And horrified at what I heard
I could not comprehend the words
Your precious life they could not save
So jarred, I could but rant and rave
How could you go and leave me here
To raise alone our kids, I fear
This pain so strong will never go
For its embraced me tightly so
And strangled joy inside of me
Gone is who I’m meant to be
But wait, though I may be bereft
I realize much life is left
So I press on and trust in God
To carry me when times are hard
Then slowly death gives way to life
And I become another’s wife
Love that was gone has been revived
And I give thanks that I’m alive
For God has blessed me with new love
And smiling I look up above
I know he’s glad that I’ve moved on
And stopped my mourning that he’s gone
So thank you God that he’s with you
In heaven, that I always knew
And I will live until the day
You call me to come home to stay.

It was a sad story with a happy ending and well written. It is always good to know that people can move on in their lives and never forget their past love. |

I can only imagine the pain his death brought. But I am glad that the sun is shining for you again and that you have moved on, without forgetting him...
Hugs
