Country days

Contributed by zenith66 on Thursday, 10th January 2008 @ 03:06:37 AM in AEST
Topic: Nostalgic

Still plains
Open fields,
Light rain,
Is this real,

Starry dust
In gentle waves
Cosmic ribbons
Follow days,

Sleepy lakes
At misty dawns,
Knife like water
Thrown in storms,

Trembling mountains
Magical trees,
We grip there branches
In the breeze,

Darker days
Winter chills
Steaming kettles
On the sills,

Grassy chasms
Pierce the land
Great phantasms
Haunt the strand,

Shadowed garden
Picket fence
Summer
lets us sleep in tents,

Lying in the
Mountain shrouds
Tiredly tracing
Pathless clouds

Limestone caves
We brought the torch
And ran from nothing
Back to our porch,

Perfect nights
Full of laughs
In pure delight
At natures craft…

Damn zenith!! this was DEFINITELY nostalgic, and OH! so breath taking!!
Thank you for this. I was whisked away to the beauties of nature; breathing
it in, full and pure! Is anything more glorious than the excitement of being
outdoors, communing with all that we see, touch and smell?

You captured it perfectly, friend. A glorious read!!

Great writing.
